Get photos with the Easter Bunny at La Palmera mall
Visit with the Easter Bunny and take photos from 11 am to 8 pm Mondays through Saturdays and 11 am to 6 pm Sundays now through Saturday, April 16, in the center court of La Palmera mall, 5488 S. Padre Island Drive. Make a reservation to cut down on your wait time, but walk-ins are always welcome. Quiet Time with Bunny is also available 9-11 am Sunday, March 27, and Sunday, April 3 (reservation required). Pet Night with Bunny is 5-8 pm March 29-30. Cost: Photo packages start at $24.99. Big Bloom Community Day and Plant Sale at South Texas Botanical Gardens
The South Texas Botanical Gardens and Nature Center’s annual Big Bloom Plant Sale and Community $2 Day will be from 10 am to 5 pm Saturday, April 2, at 8545 S. Staples St. The popular sale and community day is back, with $2 entrance fee for nonmembers, hundreds of plant varieties, specialty vendors, orchid sale, plumeria, xeriscape, butterfly and ladybug releases, Kids’ Zone and animal ambassadors. Earth Day-Bay Day festival at Heritage Park
The Coastal Bend Bays Foundation presents the 23rd annual Earth Day-Bay Day festival from 10 am to 4 pm Saturday, April 9, in Heritage Park, 1581 N. Chaparral St. Enjoy all kinds of fun, including Texas Parks and Wildlife Coastal Expo, Birds of Prey raptor show, educational displays and hands-on activities: nature crafts, tree giveaway by Valero Refineries, wildlife artifacts/rescue, Youth Odyssey climbing rock wall and a fishing pond by Fishing’s Future. Bingo with Bunny at La Palmera
La Palmera mall presents Bingo with Bunny from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, April 12, in the La Palmera Cafes food court, 5488 S. Padre Island Drive. In addition to a special appearance by the Easter Bunny himself, guests can play Bingo or the Chubby Bunny marshmallow-eating contest, with winners earning La Palmera gift cards.
